Lost

I've been quite distracted from blogging lately... no one seems to have been reading... until one time, Evette's friend Marie pointed out that my last blog entry was connie of Britain's Got Talent

I guess it all started when i got busy, then my macbook died on me, then i just got busy catching up on old things.

on a lighter note... i just came from a vacation and i haven't really fixed my things. my room is 10 times messier than what the image looks like.

tinatamad ako magtrabaho part 2

it's been days that i've been feeling this way. I get by with what I have to do... but it's not enough. Now I have backlog...

in any case, since i'm procrastinating, i'd like to share this video, a creative fun way of getting things done!

Amy Winehouse-ing

image and some text lifted from http://www.funlol.com/funpages/internet-addiction-disorder.html

Amy Winehouse made the song REHAB so popular... I guess that's what I need now! I'm addicted to blog hopping, blog writing, and facebook. Here's what the funlol.com page says and my comments are in parentheses...

1) I will have a cup of coffee in the morning and read my newspaper like I used to, before the Internet. (i used to have coffee and read the morning papers before I hit the internet... now, it' right beside my bed. I practically eat and sleep with my computer.... not that i don't have a social life)

2) I will eat breakfast with a knife and fork and not with one hand typing. (OMG! I've done this a few times! I will make a conscious effort never to do this again)

3) I will get dressed before noon. (i used to be up and out of the house before lunch. Now, I don't even shower until after lunch. That's why I avoid morning appointments)

4) I will make an attempt to clean the house, wash clothes, and plan dinner before even thinking of the Internet. (my room is a mess. it's even worse of a mess now that I have 24-hour broadband! I promise to clean it before the new year's!)

5) I will sit down and write a letter to those unfortunate few friends and family that are Internet-deprived. (as my former officemate called me "an apathetic atenean", I will rest on those laurels on this one)

6) I will call someone on the phone who I cannot contact via the Internet. (at least i still do this!)

7) I will read a book...if I still remember how. (oh, that's one thing the internet cannot take away from me... my love for books)

8) I will listen to those around me and their needs and stop telling them to turn the TV down so I can hear the music on the Internet. (heehee... i'd love to tell those noisy neighbors to tape their kids to the walls so they'd quiet down and not keep running down my street)

9) I will not be tempted during TV commercials to check for email. (hmmm... come to think of it... i haven't been watching TV as much as I used to)

10) I will try and get out of the house at least once a week, if it is necessary or not. (oh, I loooove getting out of the house)

11) I will remember that my bank is not forgiving if I forget to balance my checkbook because I was too busy on the Internet. (i think i've done this once or twice. help!!!)

12) Last, but not least, I will remember that I must go to bed sometime...and the Internet will always be there tomorrow! (ugh!!! i should stop playing those mindless games that make the hours go by so fast!!!)

I guess I do need rehab from the net... I'll work on it tomorrow... I'll work on my social life tonight :)

tinatamad ako magtrabaho

Photo from http://www.motichoor.com

I'm getting too lazy to work, AGAIN! I was on a roll earlier when my tummy decided that I have to break for lunch. I have to force myself to become creative... maybe that's why i am posting this entry.

Earlier, my mind was drifting when Incubus' song "Are You In" popped into my head. I googled the lyrics and realized that the band made money out of a total of (i'm not sure if i counted correctly) 12 words! Wow! Effortless way to make money!

Anyway, I was thinking that this songs was very peer-pressure-y... but in another line of thought... it would be pretty insulting if you're in bed and your bed partners starts singing this song. HAHAHAHAHA!

Thank heavens I haven't had any complaints in that department.

Wala lang. Sana maging masipag na ulit ako.

long vacations

It has happened time and again... a long weekend comes along, or I take a vacation. After that, i have to force myself and my body to get into working condition. it's like hauling a mountain up another mountain! Before I know it, the workload piles up and I have to cram every single thing in one day. Worst case scenario is I don't sleep for two days.

I hate long weekends, but I love them because they allow me to rest. I wish i had a master switch for work mode, which I can just toggle on and off.

when it rains it pours

there are days when work seems never-ending... but there are days when you are so unproductive. today is one of the most unproductive days i've ever had. i'm so bored here at home, trying to figure out what work to do. i have to write something, but i can't seem to put it in the right frame of mind.

oh well... let's see where this gets me

welcome back!

I haven't blogged in a long time, mostly due to laziness and the hectic pace of my schedule. Honestly, the biggest hindrance back then was a slow computer and a slow internet connection. A blog post would equate to 10-15 minutes of writing and an hour of waiting to upload.

With that said, I plan to learn a few things for my blog
1. create my own template (i used to know how to do this, but i don't anymore)
2. learn to upload photos ( i know i have to create a flicker account)
3. devote more time to it

I've already come up with a few things I'd like to write about. Some are just pure randomness, while others have a political slant to it. most timely considering our economy is picking up and some stupid idiots want to drag the country down again.

Yesterday, I spoke to a friend of mine (who is now based in Morocco). His cousin-in-law was one of the unlucky people who got caught in the blast and didn't make it. His cousin is devastated and i'm pretty devastated for the fact that she left behind a daughter who will not have a chance to experience the devotion of a mother. I didn't ask my friend for information, but learned about the details when I read his cousin's letter on Cecille Zamora's blog.

Indeed, it was a sad day for Filipinos. With the government's terrorist angle brush off, this brings up a whole new concern for everyone -- safety through proper sanitation.

I hope someone finds a solution to all the country's problems... but things remain bleak for me, as of now. Like i said before, I'm not a total pessimist, nor am i an all-out optimist. I'm a pure realist. I'm seeing things from a realistic point of view... well, my realistic point of view, at least.

Waiting in Vain

Waiting has long been my pet peeve. Something about being ready and agonizingly waiting for the minutes/hours to pass have wreaked havoc on my semi-ADHD state.

The gravity of the situation is amplified because I feel that time is always running out. I've always multi-tasked because I want to do so many things at one time. I've had that frame of mind since I was a kid and was probably the only one who never slept at nap time and deviced various ways to wake myself up (I didn't know how to operate an alarm clock back then).

Over the years, I've developed ways to combat boredom induced by waiting:
1. always bring along a paperback or magazine to read. if you're in an area where there is a bookstore, let your mind explore
2. keep your mobile phone by your side because the games come in handy
3. play mindless games on your laptop
4. keep a notebook for doodling or writing ideas
5. observe people passing. make up stories in your head at the same time.
6. if you're waiting at home, plonk yourself down in front of the TV set and just while the hours away.
7. play with your dog... or torment it by throwing items for it to retrieve, if you feel a bit naughty
8. If you're stuck in traffic, use your mobile headset and chat away with people on the phone. It helps if you have Sun Cellular Mobile
9. Sing your heart out to a CD of your choice if you're stuck in traffic. This works only if your windows are all closed and your car is almost sound proof.
10. take pictures and play around with them.

there are lots more ways to battle boredom. it's just a matter of creativity
